SATAV (b. 1977, Beirut) creates abstract universes as reaction to corporate landscape architecture.
Throughout two decades of navigating slow construction timelines and client surreal wishes, his constant remedy was obsessive doodling. He drew during endless boring meetings and lengthy presentations that said nothing. By stripping the aerial views and master plans of his day job of their practical constraints, he developed a completely abstract visual language.
Launched in 2025, Unreal Estate transforms geography into a new graphic dimension. The first collection consists of 15 ink drawings on cotton paper, mapping out deserts discovered through travel and late-night Google Earth rabbit holes.
While he brings extreme precision to his canvas, SATAV remains rough around the edges in real life, maintaining a flawless 100% lifetime record for spilling his drinks.
